A total of 240 young people from all regions of El Salvador have completed a programme of activities focusing on specialized training in the practice of football, as well as on good behaviour and sports psychology.

The LaLiga, Values and Opportunity program, promoted by the Government of the Republic of El Salvador, through INDES, and in collaboration with the LaLiga FOUNDATION, has put the final point to the first edition of its Sports and social campus, involving 240 children from the Paracentral, Western, Central and Eastern Zone of El Salvador.

Since last April 26, and for four weeks, the participants, housed in the city of San Salvador, have been guided by two monitors of the LaLiga FOUNDATION, who have been supported at all times by a group of 20 certified monitors categorized as the best evaluated in theory and practice in the different formations of the LaLiga, Values and Opportunity program.

The development of the Campus has taken place in Las Delicias, and the main activities of the program have had as themes the theory and practice of football, injury prevention, sports psychology, gender equality, conflict resolution, life skills and other playful workshops.

In coordination with the Ministry of Culture of El Salvador, the children of the LaLiga, Values and Opportunity Campus have also made various visits to cultural, sports, historical and recreational spaces in and around San Salvador, with the aim of knowing the Salvadoran culture.

The president ad honorem of the INDES, Yamil Bukele, who was in charge of giving closure to the campus last Friday, did not want to miss the opportunity to wish a good return home to the participating children.

For his part, Miguel, one of the participants of the Campus and native of Jiquilisco, Usulután, said that “this training has exceeded all my expectations, it is an unforgettable experience”, and especially values “the quality of the technical content in football and the good behaviour we have followed, such as the importance of teamwork and equality. I also liked the cultural visits we have made”, he says.

The Campus is part of the LaLiga, Values and Opportunity Program, which aims to benefit 26,200 children, between the ages of 9 and 16, which will be captured through the Sports Initiation Schools that will be created in the 262 municipalities of the country, with almost 300,000 impacts on the beneficiaries.
